Actors Jin Goo and Gong Seung-yeon have been selected as the hosts for the opening ceremony of the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival. The event will take place on April 27th at 6:30 PM at the Hall of Korean Sound Culture "Moak Hall" in Jeonju.

Jin Goo debuted as a child actor in the 2003 drama "All In" and has since appeared in various dramas such as "Descendants of the Sun," "A Superior Day," "Legal High," "Mr. Sunshine," and films "The Admiral: Roaring Currents" (2014), "One Line" (2016), and "The Witch Part2. The Other One" (2022).

Gong Seung-yeon has showcased her delicate yet solid acting skills in the drama "The First Responders," "Bulgasal: Immortal Souls," films "Aloners" (2021), and "LOVE SICK" (2022). Gong previously won the Actor Award in the Korean Competition category at the 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival for "Aloners" and was selected as a jury member for the Korean Short Film Competition at the 23rd Jeonju International Film Festival, highlighting her deep connection with the festival.

The opening film of the Jeonju International Film Festival is "Tori and Lokita" by directors Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne. "Tori and Lokita" tells the story of marginalized young immigrants, a boy and a teenage girl, set in a Belgian city. The Dardenne brothers will visit Korea for the first time for the event.

Meanwhile, the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival will be held from April 27th to May 6th in Jeonju Film Street and surrounding areas. Over the course of 10 days, 247 films from 42 countries will be screened, with 38 Korean short films also available online.
