South Korean actress Seo Ye Ji, best known for her role in the K-romantic drama television series "It's Okay To Not Be Okay" has been seen going for the script reading for "Eve", her upcoming drama for tvN.

The project marks the actress's return to promotions after nearly a year since she found herself embroiled in a scandal, which involved Kim Jung Hyun, her ex-boyfriend. It will also be the South Korean celebrity's return to a small-screen project after 2 years since she was seen in the series that gave her the most fame.

Seo Ye Ji had stepped back from the public eye and was maintaining a low profile for approximately a year after being accused of gaslighting and manipulating her ex-boyfriend, who is also an actor. The actress had also faced allegations from ex-school friends of indulging in bullying and school violence.

After facing a severe backlash from netizens following the scandal, the actress immediately lost out on many projects. Seo Ye Ji also did not attend the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards, where she was a nominee.

Now the actress will be seen in "Eve", which is going to be a drama highlighting revenge, romance, mystery, and social commentary. Seo Ye Ji will be playing the role of Lee Rael, a person who saw her father being murdered during her childhood.

The drama will center around the character planning and plotting revenge for the death of her father. The series will also have actor Park Byung Eun in the character of a CEO of an important company, whose life is seemingly perfect until he falls in love with the protagonist.

According to the production team, Seo Ye Ji's great affection for the project, solid acting skills, and high understanding of the character were some of the decisive factors for casting her as Lee Ra El.

Actors Lee Sang Yup and Yoo Sun also play important roles in "Eve". The series is going to premiere in the second half of 2022. The show will also be the first small-screen project for Seo Ye Ji after "It's Okay To Not Be Okay".

Meanwhile, there were reports last month that actor Kim Jung Hyun would be making his comeback with an independent film, resuming his acting career. The actor has been on a hiatus for the past 10 months since the controversy. In 2021, he also had a tiff with his management company over the agency contract.
