Lizzy, a former member of the girl group, After School, was booked for drunk driving on May 19. The singer turned actress and now known as Park Soo Young was said to have been charged with violation of South Korea's Road Traffic Act.

Park Soo Young's agency, Celltrion Entertainment, confirmed that its artist was apprehended by the authorities at the Seoul Gangnam Police Station earlier today. She was brought to the station after the accident but not detained.

According to Newsen, the 28-year-old admitted to driving while intoxicated when questioned at the police station. Based on the report, she was driving around 10 p.m. on May 18 in the neighborhood of Cheongdam. She was near Youngdong Bridge in Gangnam district when she crashed into a taxi in front of her.

It was fortunate that no one was hurt in the incident but Park Soo Young still violated a law so she needs to be investigated. She is likely to have some kind of penalty for the DUI offense but the authorities have not concluded the probe yet so the actress is waiting for the final verdict.

"I am ashamed of the fact that I was driving while drunk and I really regret it," Donga quoted Soo Young as saying during the inquiry. "I also worked hard and cooperated on the investigation."

In any case, it is already certain that her driving license would be canceled as her alcohol level at the time of the accident was high enough for this penalty to be leveled at her. It is yet to be seen if there will be additional punishment for her offense.

Meanwhile, Park Soo Young debuted as a part of the girl group called After School in 2009. She graduated from the band in 2018 and although the team did not disband, they have gone their separate ways to embark on new careers. For Lizzy, she moved to acting and this has been her focus for almost three years now.
