BLACKPINK fans criticized a reporter who reported that BLACKPINK's Jennie is gaining weight lately.

On January 6, Wednesday, netizens, and fans are raging over a reporter who made a report headline mentioning how BLACKPINK's Jennie is gaining too much weight. With a bold headline, the reporter wrote the title, "Didn't Jennie gain too much weight? BLACKPINK's Jennie makes fans worried with the recent photo of herself in 2021."

BLINKs (BLACKPINK fandom) and K-netizens who adored the BLACKPINK member Jennie got infuriated over the headline and how the reporter even shared a snap of Jennie's latest photo this year with her cheeks puffing out. Due to this, fans are condemning the reporter for insulting Jennie's body without thinking about how K-pop idols get too much conscious in maintaining their body shape and weight.

Fans denied that they worry about Jennie gaining weight as it's just normal, especially with the recent holidays where people get to normally eat whatever they want. Moreover, fans expressed no hate even if Jennie gets a little chunky as she still is beautiful to their eyes.

Some netizens explained how BLACKPINK's Jennie looked fine with her body and how cute Jennie's cheeks are when she smiles. One netizen even compared it to a hamster, saying, "BLACKPINK Jennie's face was always chubby like a hamster.'

The public knows how K-pop idols undergo rigorous diets and workouts to keep their body well-toned as they are celebrities and performers. Idols appear in public with a perfect body figure pairing their beautiful and handsome faces, fit to the public's standard of becoming an idol.

More importantly, fans are worried as some K-pop diols take words they read online seriously and become more prone to depression and anxiety, causing hiatus or health issues. That is why fans are defending and boosting their idol's confidence and morale to avoid getting the same fate as other unfortunate idols who got deeply hurt and affected by such insults.
