K-pop girl group Gugudan shares official disbandment news, their managing label Jellyfish Entertainment confirms.

On December 30, Wednesday, Jellyfish Entertainment announces Gugudan's official disbandment today through the group's fansite. In the announcement letter, Jellyfish Entertainment thanked all the fans for their undying love and support they have offered for Gugudan since its official debut in the K-pop scene.

As Gugudan marks the end of their group activities, other members have already ventured on different paths such as acting and personal preferences. Along with the agency, the members have been working these past few years to repay all the fans' love and support through Gugudan's music.

However, after a long discussion between the members and Jellyfish Entertainment, both have decided to disband on December 31, 2020, officially. Jellyfish Entertainment would still support the members in their future endeavors such as music and acting.

Moreover, the label apologized for announcing such an unfortunate piece of news to the public as the year must end with a happy memory. Despite the sudden news, Jellyfish Entertainment asked the fans to support the members' and agency's decision on disbanding and still send their love and support on their activities.

Some fans thought it would be the best as the new year will make a new chapter for each of Gugudan members. Other netizens and fans are expressing their shock and sadness on social media forums but still support the final decision of the agency and Gugudan.

Gugudan officially made their debut in June 2016 and marked their last comeback in November 2018 with a mini-album titled, 'Act.5 New Action' and an opening track, 'Not That Type.'
