The upcoming Tenth Gaon Chart Music Awards to be held in January of 2021 will be held without live audiences and performances due to COVID-19 restriction protocols.

On December 28, Monday, Allkpop reported that the 'Tenth Gaon Chart Music Awards' will be commemorated without a live audience and performance as part of the COVID-19 precautionary measure.

Due to the growing number of K-pop idols and staff getting infected with the virus, the event organizers decided to reduce close contact activities, including on-stage performances and preparations to avoid possible virus transmission.

Moreover, recent music awarding shows have been getting many criticisms from fans and netizens due to poor social distancing in the venue. The 'Tenth Gaon Chart Music Awards' hosts Super Junior's Leeteuk and ITZY's Lia will be announcing each category's winners from the studio while fans will have to tune in to the event broadcast to see who won the titles.
