The slumbering K-pop group BIGBANG is still on the game, so strong in breaking records and setting history milestones with its music pieces.

BIGBANG rakes streams on Spotify

The South Korean all-boy group from YG Entertainment, BIGBANG, makes history in heels for the Christmas season. Despite being in slumber for a long time now, the boy band breaks a new record for the Korean music scene as it has reached 1 billion streams on Spotify.

The impressive stream earning of BIGBANG comes amid its long hiatus, alongside periodic updates from the members for their solo stints. Undoubtedly, BIGBANG continues to awe the music scene, this time, on Spotify.

BIGBANG sets new record

As per Newsbreak, the iconic boy band hits 1 billion streams on Spotify, a milestone that makes the group earn a new tag and record. That said, BIGBANG is now the first 2nd-generation group to surpass the displayed number of streams on Spotify.

The band is also the only non-3rd-generation group to achieve the feat, proving the band's massive existence in the global music scene, per Allkpop.

Furthermore, BIGBANG is the seventh South Korean act to gather 1 billion streams, with few songs as entries.

In the 14 years since BIGBANG's debut, the band only dropped 67 Korean songs. That matter makes the band's finish on Spotify a remarkable one, considering K-pop groups releases 15-30 songs every year.

On Twitter, the announcement was first made via @chartdata, leading fans to gush over their idols' new feat.

BIGBANG last released an album four years ago, with one album entry when the streaming era began. However, the band's discoverability is not fully available and was only updated on Spotify in 2015. With that said, BIGBANG took six years to gather 1 billion streams, with only 67 Korean songs lusted.

Congratulations to BIGBANG!
