'The Heirs' star Park Shin Hye will appear in the upcoming suspense-filled and mystery-packed Korean film titled The Call. Being known for her roles in romantic comedy dramas, the actress reveals that she enjoys taking up a dark role.

The new project of the actress resolves in the character of Seo Yeon (Park Shin Hye). After a long time, she returns to her family home and finds a landline phone set. She then receives a mysterious call from someone named Young Sook; however, she later realizes that the stranger is from 20 years ago and is also living in the same house.

Motivated By A Co-Star

In an online interview, Park Shin Hye revealed that the film The Call gave her confidence and opened a new door for her to try various recent performances. The actress also revealed that actress Jeon Jong Seo, who played Young Sook, motivated her greatly.

Furthermore, she also divulged that the character Young Sook deserves to be considered one of the powerful female villains in Korean cinema. This is for exploding “repressed” madness in the film.

Park Shin Hye said, “Through Jeon Jong Seo’s honest emotions, I think Young Sook’s character that exudes lunacy was made possible.” She added that she felt that the Young Sook that she initially thought of could become an entirely different Young Sook.

Rejecting The Offer

Moreover, Park Shin Hye also revealed that she first rejected the offer to do the role during the interview.

At first, the #ALIVE actress pondered over the offer since she already played a character similar to Seo Yeon. She said that she sees Seo Yeon as someone very passive and Young Sook as very attractive. However, after confirming her appearance, the script was revised.

Park Shin Hye expressed that they talked a lot about how Seo Yeon would overcome crazy Young Sook. Simultaneously, as the actress is torn apart by Young Sook and starts to harbor spite, she focused on capturing detailed changes that Seo Yeon experiences in her emotions.

Meanwhile, The Call, originally scheduled to be released in theaters in March, will now be hitting Netflix on Nov 27. The hopeful actress shared that she hopes the film will land on No. 1 on Netflix just like her previous movie #ALIVE.
