South Korean singer BoA has rendered a celebrity appearance on SBS's 'My Ugly Duckling' and shared some of her preferences regarding her ideal man. BoA also discussed how her parents tried to stop her from chasing her singing career.

On November 23, Soompi reported the latest episode preview of SBS's 'My Ugly Duckling' where iconic singer BoA made an appearance and joined other celebrity moms as the show's special host. As to her 20th debut anniversary in the industry, BoA still could not believe it as it felt completely surreal even up to date.

Other mom hosts who were moderating the show also asked BoA if she had ever been an 'ugly duckling' (a stubborn kid), to which the singer admitted that she was when she was young. BoA recalled when she abruptly informed her parents that she wanted to be SM Entertainment's trainee.

BoA made it clear that she was just in sixth grade when the label asked her to be part of their agency, which her parents strongly denied. Her parents were worried as she was still young and had to finish schooling first.

The celebrity shared that she took the exam to enter middle school and get the highest grade. However, BoA eventually left school to pursue her singing career. Despite her parents' decision, BoA still fought for her dream, "We fought about it, and I think that's when I was a bit of an 'ugly duckling," she commented.

When asked to name a cast member to go out on a dinner, BoA chose Park Soo Hong. She explained that Soo Hong's life is full of adventure, completely the opposite of how she lives her life. BoA thought that if she dated him, her life would be cheerful as his.

That being said, Park Soo Hong's mom responded positively to BoA's remark and agreed to her comments. As to BoA's ideal man, she asked for someone who can treat her well and a man who has a small circle of friends.
