Former PRISTIN member Xiyeon will appear in tvN D's web drama "TRAP"!

The anticipated web series "TRAP" will be a mixture of romance and thriller that tells a story about the love, temptation, and betrayal among university students in their twenties, Soompi reported.

Xiyeon will be taking on the role of Kang Eun Ji, the best friend of the main lead who is pure and faithful, making her approachable and can easily befriend anyone.

Joining her as part of the cast for the upcoming web drama are Kim Dong Han, Woo Davi, Son Hyun Woo, and Park Yi Hyun, and Choi Kyung Hoon.

Her agency, Soo Yeon Kang Entertainment, released a statement saying, "She worked hard for this project through which she will finally greet her fans. Please show lots of anticipation and support."

Xiyeon recently announced her acting debut after being cast for an independent film 'Sillim Man And Woman' in May 2020. Her acting debut was initially made known after the president of a coffee truck company especially sent her a coffee truck to the set to show their support, Soompi reported.

The former idol later confirmed through her Instagram post that she was indeed preparing for an acting debut.

"Although I've taken on a huge role as the lead in my first project, I had so much fun and have waited so long for these moments. In the future, I will greet you all with diligent promotions as actress Park Xiyeon. Thank you!" Xiyeon said in her post.

Xiyeon first appeared on the first season of "Produce 101" as a trainee representing PLEDIS Entertainment. She ended in 25th place and debuted as a member of PRISTIN in 2017.

The girl group officially disbanded in May 2019, and Xiyeon ended up leaving the agency.

On July 3, 2020, Soo Yeon Kang Entertainment declared that Xiyeon had signed an exclusive deal with them and stated that they are ready to support the former idol in making a fresh start and are asking her fans to do the same.

"TRAP" will be pre-released on TikTok on July 8 at 7 p.m. KST and will officially premiere on the tvN D STORY YouTube channel on July 15 at 9 p.m. KST.
