BTS has been awarded the James A. Van Fleet Award for their numerous contributions to the Korean culture while spreading the message of self-love through their songs.

In the Award Ceremony, BTS first greeted the viewers. They thanked the Korean Society’s Annual Gala in presenting them the award for people who have made outstanding contributions in promoting healthy relationships between South Korea and The United States.

Each member of BTS had given a speech to promote solidarity and love through music. They have been all over the world, touring.

However, music’s love has made them connect with various ethnicities and change their lives with different countries and people.

Jin stated that people worldwide live in different times zones and locations, but are connected through music’s love. “We share our cultures and stories beyond borders and languages based on solidarity,” he added.

BTS member J-Hope explained that even with BTS’s harrowing journey to stardom seven years ago, they have not given up the hard times they went through because of people that have supported them in solidarity.

Jimin continued, saying that BTS is delighted when people worldwide listened to their songs and heard their message of love, especially in the U.S. He continued that it allows them to clearly see what they are doing to move forward with their careers.

Jungkook added, “What I have learned from touring across the world is that our thoughts are not so different even if we are in different places.” BTS’s Maknae continued that the feeling of sadness, anger, and being touched is similar everywhere the group goes.

Moreover, Jungkook hopes that BTS’s music plays a role as a link that allows people worldwide to understand and respect one another.

Suga is thankful for the many people supporting each of the BTS members, who became a messenger, spreading as much bigger energy and influence worldwide.

Furthermore, Suga pledges that in the future, they will make sure not to lose faith in the power of connection and solidarity, and continue to create music and performances of their own.

Meanwhile, the news was announced in August 2020 that BTS was about to be the youngest recipient of the James A. Van Fleet Award for their contributions to the K-pop industry and Korean culture.
