Yoona wrote a letter of apology after receiving backlash for having a good time in karaoke with Lee Hyori karaoke amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic!

On June 1, according to Koreaboo, Lee Hyori and Yoona went on a short broadcast on Instagram while having a karaoke session. However, the live streaming received differing comments from fans after seeing that the artists were not wearing masks in the karaoke venue.

Although many fans were happy seeing both Yoona and Hyori together, others were displeased with what they saw.

As the two artists read the comments on the broadcast, Lee Hyori put on her mask, while Yoona explained that she wore a mask upon arriving at the karaoke venue.

However, their stand did not quench some netizens' opinions. The viewers pointed out that the two were supposedly involved in the "Thanks Challenge," where they thanked all the frontliners, especially the medical staff who have worked hard to control the spread of Coronavirus and treat infected patients in Korea.

"Didn't you both do the Thanks Challenge?" one viewer commented. "I became worried after seeing their broadcast, I'm worried that there may be people who think it's okay to go to karaoke now," wrote another viewer.

The next morning, according to Soompi, Lee Hyori posted on her Instagram her apologies. She admitted that she reflected on their behavior last night at the Karaoke session and realized that she should have exercised caution. She said that it was due to the great excitement that she was not able to think deeply.

Lee Hyori added that as an older sister and friend to Yoona, she should have set an example. Yoona followed suit and posted a handwritten apology on her Instagram account.

She said in her post that she sincerely apologize for her actions. She also admitted that her thoughts and judgment in the current situation are weak, especially when everyone is having a hard time.

Lee Hyori and Yoona both promised to be cautious with their actions and watch their behavior next time.
