A Korean Youtuber named JerryRic interviewed Koreans about BLACKPINK Jennie’s nurse outfit on the “Lovesick Girls” music video and express thoughts about the whole issue of stereotyping nurses.

On the Youtube video, the Youtuber JerryRic interviewed Koreans on the streets to hear their sentiments about BLACKPINK Jennie’s nurse outfit on the “Lovesick Girls” MV.

The comments were divided with several Koreans thought that the outfit was revealing, and several people believed that the attire was not a big deal.

Two interviewees, who are nurses, stated Jennie’s nurse attire made them feel uncomfortable, saying that nurses wear a free-sized type of pants to help ease their work. Still, in BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” music video, it was shown to have a short skirt and revealing.

The nurses continued that making the skirt too short was the cause of the alarm from The Health and Medical Worker’s Union of Korea, and that is way YG Entertainment edited Jennie’s part out in ‘Lovesick Girls.”

Meanwhile, another interviewee stated that Jennie wore the nurse outfit to show her individuality as a young public figure, but some people are not fond of the idea. “However, most people liked how she showed her individuality wearing the outfit as a public figure,” said the Korean interviewee.

Another Korean pointed out that other male idols are also shown wearing school uniforms and suits that are too revealing their music videos. The interviewee also thinks that BLACKPINK Jennie should not be stereotyped in wearing the nurse outfit because male idols again pull off their shirts.

“If that’s the case, then male idols shouldn’t be wearing school uniforms and why is it that only female idols that are getting attacked,” said the female interviewee.

It was previously reported that The Health and Medical Workers Union of Korea backlash BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls” as it promotes sexual objectification against nurses and is detrimental to those who work from the field.

YG Entertainment released a public statement that it would delete all the nurse scenes from the "Lovesick Girls" MV and replace it with an edited version as soon as possible.

BLACKPINK's record label added that they have prepared an immense effort in editing the music video and did not expect such controversy to happen as they did not have any intentions in doing so.

YG Entertainment also apologized to the nurses who got offended and felt uncomfortable in this situation. The label previously stated that there was no hidden intention behind it, but worried about its perception.
