Here is the new batch of artists who received platinum certifications from the Gaon Chart. BTS, SEVENTEEN, Kang Daniel, and more are among the new achievers!

The Start Of A New Certification System

The Korea Music Content Industry Association, in 2018, has implemented a new certification system for song downloads, album sales, and online streaming. Gaon Chart now certifies albums platinum starting with music released on or after January 1, 2018, once they reach 250,000 sales. And at 100 million streams or 2.5 million downloads, songs receive platinum certification.

The 'Albums Sales' Achievers

Gaon Chart announced on October 8 that SEVENTEEN's 2019 mini-album You Made My Dawn had received an official double-platinum certification after selling over 500,000 copies since its release last year.

Meanwhile, the latest mini-album of Kang Daniel, MAGENTA, was officially certified platinum since its release in August after selling over 250,000 copies.

'Song Downloads' Certifications

Both BTS' IDOL and Vibe's Fall in Fall released in 2018 received official platinum certifications in the download category. This is after surpassing 2.5 million downloads each. Furthermore, Paul Kim's OST of the SBS drama Should We Kiss First, Every Day, Every Moment, became certified double platinum after racking up over 5 million downloads.

Streaming Category

BTS' Boy With Luv (featuring Halsey) achieved a double-platinum certification in the streaming category, after surpassing 200 million streams.

Meanwhile, both the remake of Aloha of Jo Jung Suk from the OST of tvN's Hospital Playlist and Good Day of pH-1, Kid Milli, and Loopy's were certified platinum after reaching 100 million streams each.

On October 8, BTS had officially achieved a triple crown as announced by Gaon Chart for September, after sweeping all three digital charts with their latest hit. The septet's English-language single Dynamite in September claimed No. 1 on the overall digital chart, the streaming chart, and the digital download chart.

Meanwhile, the new title track Lovesick Girls of BLACKPINK debuted at No. 1 on this week's digital download chart.
