Actor So Ji Sub has made a significant contribution to help South Korea's impoverished elderly citizens.

On September 21, the International Relief and Development Organization 'Good Neighbors' publicly announced that So Ji Sub has made a monetary contribution amounting to $85,700 or 100 million won. The donation helps aid those underprivileged communities with elderly members, ahead of the commemoration of Chuseok (South Korea's Thanksgiving).

The actor's funding will all be used to supply food and sanitary care products to help the community and the beneficiaries protect themselves from COVID-19. Senior citizens who live alone and are not adequately assisted by social programs of the government will receive winter season items.

So Ji Sub previously donated to the Good Neighbors to help the organization battle COVID-19 by providing necessary survival items through this pandemic. The donation amounts to 330 million won (roughly $299,950).

In March, the artist supported 200 children from deprived households and sent 5,820 clothes to the medical staff headquarters in Daegu. So Ji Sub also issued mobile devices for 145 impoverished young children in April to aid their educational struggles as the pandemic restricts traditional face-to-face learning worldwide.

In 2017, the actor had become part of the organization, Good Neighbor, a status exclusively granted to him for making a significant amount of monetary contributions, approximately 10 million won for International humanitarian NGO.

The director of the Good Neighbors gratefully expressed his warm message to the actor, saying that "So Ji Sub's positive influence in the community will become a legacy of peace and hope for those who are going through tough times, especially because of the pandemic crisis." (via Soompi)

Following a sequence of his television debuts, Cain and Abel (2004), Phantom (12), Master's Sun (2013), Oh My Venus (2015–16), and also movie Rough Cut (2008), So Ji Sub was remembered for his starring roles on various TV shows, especially with 'What Happened in Bali.' The actor even launched some hip hop EPs himself.
