With that said, here are some K-Dramas to watch for the start of the school year.

Extraordinary You’

The School K-Drama stars Kim Hye Yoon as Eun Dan Oh as she realizes that she is not living in a real high school, in fact, she is really inside a comic book and is nothing but a minor character. And the worst part is that Eun Dan Oh is falling for Ha Roo, played by Rowoon, who is an extra in the comic book.

The two lovebirds barely see in the picture novel because he only plays a supporting role in the whole story. Eun Dan Oh and Ha Roo challenge the norm despite the odds of them being together are low.

‘Angry Mom’

Ja Gang Ra, played by Kim Hee Sun, has a daughter named Oh Ah Ran (Kin Yoo Jung). She discovers that her daughter is being bullied in school, which makes her angry. To protect her daughter’s frailty, Ja Gang Ra goes undercover as a student to find the bullies and teach them a lesson.

“Angry Mom” goes through an unorthodox method of taking care of your children and teaching a valuable lesson of the repercussions of bullying. It also shows the unconditional love from a mother to her daughter as she goes through any lengths to protect her, that viewers can surely enjoy.

‘Reply 1997’

Seo In Guk stars as a high school student named Yoon Yoo Jae, who has been in love with his childhood friend and neighbor Sung Shi Won played by Jung Eun Ji. Despite their sibling-like relationship, Yoo Jae has discovered that he cannot hide his feelings for Shi Woo and realizes that he only wants to be with her.

Reply 1997’ is set in high school and one of the beloved classic K-Dramas in the country that follows the two main leads being neighbors, friends as children, classmates, and then lovers as adults.

‘School 2013’

Lee Jong Suk and Kim Woo Bin play Go Nam Soon and Park Heung Soo respectively are two teenage boys who have to go through high school drama as they deal with the everyday stress of a high school student of getting great grades, maintaining a good reputation, school bullying, and the peer pressure of falling onto bad crowds.

School 2013” tells a realistic story of what high school students deal with every day in real life, particularly, in this age of social media and fast-paced life. In the end, viewers will definitely be rooting for the boys in the series.

 ‘Cheer Up’

Jung Eun Ji plays Kang Yeon Doo, who is a passionate person and a leader of a street dance club at her school, while Lee Won Geun plays the part of Kim Yeol, who is also a president of a club that has the top students in school. The two clubs are forced to create a new club - a cheerleading group that would represent the school.

At first, the two clubs are bickering on their differences and is always fighting, but eventually, they learn more about each other in the course of the story, being one as a group and started developing strong feelings for each other.
