JYP Entertainment is one of the most successful record labels in the business and has produced talents such as 2PM, Wonder Girls, Stray Kids, and more. Like any company, the record label has also implemented strict rules to follow if someone wants to achieve idol status.

Here are some strict rules the company has regulated.

1. No Entering Bars With Only Women Servers

This rule applies to everyone on JYP Entertainment, even Park Jin Young, as he shared that all people employed at the company have to stay out of bars with only women servers because this kind of bar caters to male customers.

The record label founder is so strict of this rule that at the event someone from his company stepped foot in one of these bars, they are automatically fired.

2. Diet/Maintaining Weight

JYP Entertainment trainees are expected to have a slim figure while presenting their public image. The company is responsible for the trainees in their diets and also restricts trainees from eating specific dishes such as Jokbal, which is a traditional Korean dish of pig trotters braised in soy sauce and spice.

3. No Singing Of Korean Songs During Monthly Evaluation

Former MADTOWN member H.O was once a trainee on JYP Entertainment and shared some of his past experiences as a trainee. H.O stated that trainees aren't allowed to sing Korean songs at their monthly evaluation.

"If you asked your vocal coach 'teacher, can I sing a Korean Song?' then you would get a slap on the back, and immediately told 'no, it has to be a Pop English song.'"

4. "Half-Air, Half-Sound" Singing Method

Company founder Park Jin Young has a unique singing style that he pushes trainees to learn, dubbed as the "Half-Air, Half- Sound" method. The technique produces a softer and breathier voice compared to the usual singing style, and many trainees are taught to this style of singing.

5. Dating Ban

Even after the trainee's debut, there are still many rules JYP Entertainment has implemented to their artists, and one of those rules is the dating ban. The dating ban rules are that a trainee/artist is banned from dates for three years as Park Jin Young believes that dating serves only as a distraction to artists.
