Here Are 12 K-Dramas To Look Forward This September

The start of the "ber" months, September, will be filled with exciting and enthralling drama premieres!

COVID-19 has tremendously affected the Korean drama industry as it halted tapings and rescheduled premieres of several "already-scheduled" drama. Some of the drama on the list was supposedly scheduled to debut on the small screen in August. Still, due to the many unprecedented situations, it was joined to the original line-up for September premieres.

Here's what to expect this September! (via Soompi)

1. "Love Revolution"

"Love Revolution" is based on the popular webtoon of the same name, and it follows the story of love and friendship between students. Starring as Gong Ju Young is Park Hi Hoon, who falls for Wang Ja Rim (played by Lee Ruby). He tries to win over her, but she is unimpressed by how he displays his affection. Later on, Wang Ja Rim starts to open up with his lover's persistence.

"Love Revolution" aired its first episode on September 1 on Kakao TV. And starting September 3, it will be watched every Thursday at 5 PM, KST.

2. "AMANZA"

"AMANZA" follows the story of a young man diagnosed with terminal cancer. The story was based on a webtoon by Kim Bo Tong. The character played by Ji Soo goes back and forth between the reality of his painful battle with cancer and the dream world he created where he experiences exciting adventures. Despite Ji Soo's unfortunate fate, he still strives to live his best.

"AMANZA" Premieres on September 1, and the next episodes will be viewed every Tuesday at 5 PM, KST.

3. "Lie After Lie"

Starring Lee Yoo Ri and Ji Eun Soo, the suspense-drama will follow the story of a mother who places her life on the line with the dangerous lie to be reunited by her biological daughter. She finds herself branded as a husband-killer after marrying into a chaebol family. After being imprisoned, she lost charge of her daughter.

"Lie After Lie" premieres on September 4 and will be followed every Fridays and Saturdays at 10:50 PM, KST.

4. "SF8"

The sci-fi anthology series is set in the future, and it follows the story of people who, through technological advancements, dream a perfect society. The episodes 4 through seven will be airing in September every Friday at 10:10 PM, KST.

5. "Man In Veil"

Premieres on September 7, at 7:50 PM, KSt at KBS2. It follows the story of Lee Tae Pong (Kang Eun Tak), who survived an accident miraculously and possessed the intelligence of a 7-year-old. The story of the drama will lead to the process of Lee Tae Pong exploring his process of revenge and his relationships with twin sisters Han Yoo Jung (played by Uhm Hyun Kyung) and Han Yoo Ra (Lee Chae Young).

6. "Record of Youth"

The drama follows the story of young people in the modeling industry, trying to achieve their dreams. Playing as the aspiring actor and model, Sa Hye Joon is Park Bo Gum. Park So Dam will be taking the role of a make-up artist named Ahn Jung Ha while Byun Woo Seok takes the role Won Hae Hyo, a model who wants to achieve success on his terms.

"Record of Youth" premieres on September 7. It will be followed every Mondays and Tuesdays on tvN at 9 PM, KST.

7. "Zombie Detective"

"Zombie Detective" is a comedy-drama following a zombie Kim Moo Young ( played by Choi Jin Hyuk) in his second year of resurrection. He becomes a detective later on the story. He will bump into Gong Seo Ji (played by Park Ju Hyun), a writer for an investigative journalism program with unrivaled optimism, tenacity, and a sense of justice.

8. "Oh! Samkwang Villa"

The drama is about the story of various people who gather around the house called Samkwang Villa, which is run by a woman named Lee Soon Jung (played by Jun In Hwa). The story will show how people start as strangers and begin to open up their hearts to love one another.

"Oh! Samkwang Villa" will be hitting the small screen on September 19. It will air every Saturday and Sundays at 9:55 PM, KST, at KBS2.

9. "More Than Friends"

"More Than Friends" is about two close friends who both fall in unrequited love with one another over ten years. It will follow the leads Shin Ye Eun, who will play as a girl named Kyung Woo Eun, who decides to give up on her one-sided love for her guy friend after a pining decade. Ong Seung Wu is taking the role of Lee Soo, who suddenly starts looking at her in a new perspective after years of friendship.

The drama will premiere on September 25 and broadcast every Friday and Saturdays at 11 PM, KST, at JTBC.

10. "The School Nurse Files"

"The School of Nurse Files" is a fantasy drama based on the same title's award-winning novel. It is about a nurse named Ahn Eun Young (played by Jung Yu Mi) who pursues and exorcises ghosts in funny and creative ways. The actress teams up with a teacher named Hong In Pyo (played Nam Joo Hyuk), an incredible aura of energy that protects her, helps her solve mysteries, and exorcise evil spirits.

"The School Nurse Files" premieres on September 25 on Netflix.

11. "18 Again"

Based on the American film "17 Again." It follows the story of a husband on the verge of divorce who finds himself back in his body when he was in his prime age 18 years ago. Hong Dae Yong will be playing the role of Yoon Sang Hyun, who changes his name into Go Woo Young )played by Le Do Hyun after returning 18 years old again, while Kim Ha Neul will play his wife, Jung Da Jung.

The drama will premiere sometime in September and broadcast every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 PM, KST, on JTBC.

12. "Private Lives"

"Private Lives" is a drama about con artists who use their skills and techniques to disclose the nation's secret. The new series sets in the current age where people steal and falsify their private lives. Cha Joo Eun (played by Seohyun) is a swindler who looks like a lovely and innocent woman yet scams many people to get by in life. The actress knew that she wanted the project and her role when she read the script the whole day. She was very excited that she forgot about the time passing.

"Private Lives" will premiere sometime in September and broadcast every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:30 PM, KST on JTBC.
