The new "Summer Guys" series (literal title) has announced its primary cast!

"Summer Guys" is the choice of the Korea Creative Content Agency for its 2020 Digital Media venture (short-form webcast). The story is about four teenagers coming together on the beach to relive an old cocktail bar.

CNBLUE's Lee Jung Shin, Kwon Hyun Bin, Gugudan's Mina, and Lim Nayoung are announced as the four leading actors and actresses. The drama will be organized by Heo Chan, who directed the Netflix drama "My Runway" and did work on Bong Joon Ho's "Snowpiercer" as assistant director. (via Soompi)

He stated the casting suits very well with the protagonists that it seems like the actors are bursting out from the story itself, hoping that this roster will carry on the second season of it. "Summer Guys" is said to have been like a Korean version of "Coyote Ugly" and "Cocktail," with youth, dance, and primary music concepts.

The series is set on Jeju Island, with the producing employees working at a local hotel to create a real cocktail bar that, after which shooting wraps, could be used as a real lounge.

The filming started on 20th August on Jeju Island. The production team said, "Thanks to word-of-mouth about the script and production, there's now a Chinese version of the process while the original is still not completed. We intend to be using this IP (intellectual property) material in OSMU format (one source, multi-use) so that the series can have several seasons and spin-offs. We'll work tirelessly to meet the viewers' standards for 'Summer Guys,' which will be accessible internationally via OTT (over-the-top) [streaming] services."

Lee prepared for debut under FNC Entertainment in 2009 and decided to join CNBLUE as a bass player in September of that year, substituting Kwon Kwang-jin, who quit the group briefly after his debut. He also acts as a rap artist and backup singer and is also the bassist of the band.
