Sister Duo Kim Hee-jin and Yoon Seo-ryeong Praise Young Tak's Role in Their Debut: 'A Blessing to Collaborate, He Only Offered Carrots, No Sticks'
Singers Kim Hee-jin and Yoon Seo-ryeong, who have formed the trot duo 'Sisters,' recently expressed their gratitude for Young Tak, who participated in producing their new song. The duo had an interview in commemoration of their debut song "Love is a Macchiato" at Star News in Seorin-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul.
"Love is a Macchiato," released at noon on the 19th through various online music sites, is a dance trot song co-created by Young Tak, Ku Hee-sang, and Ji Gwang-min, the trio behind the hit song "Why Are You Coming Out From There?" The song sweetly and sometimes bitterly expresses the emotions of love, likened to caramel macchiato.
The song stands out with its lively rhythm paired with a rocking electric guitar sound, and exciting brass sounds, creating a danceable atmosphere. On top of this, the fresh singing ability of Kim Hee-jin and the delicate voice of Yoon Seo-ryeong delivering unique and cute lyrics add charm.
Kim Hee-jin and Yoon Seo-ryeong expressed their gratitude to Young Tak, who provided guidance during the recording. Kim Hee-jin said, "Thanks to Young Tak's generous guidance, we were able to complete the recording smoothly. He picked out our strengths. He didn't offer both carrot and stick, but only the carrot," demonstrating her respect for Young Tak.
Yoon Seo-ryeong also said, "When we made a mistake during recording, Young Tak kindly comforted us, saying 'It's okay. Let's make it beautiful. You can do it again.' He watched over us until we got it right. As a singer, a stable atmosphere makes recording easier, and Young Tak really made us feel at ease."
"Love is a Macchiato" has gathered attention as a dance trot song once again created by the trio Young Tak, Ku Hee-sang, and Ji Gwang-min, who produced the hit song "Why Are You Coming Out From There?" thereby promising another hit.
On this, Kim Hee-jin shared, "I think it may gain some buzz. I had once sung the chorus on Young Tak's 'Nuna is Just Right' stage, but I was too out of it on recording day to mention it. I have always thought 'he is bold and cool' when watching him perform."
Yoon Seo-ryeong, whose father is trot singer Yoon Tae-kyung, said, "I can't help but be ambitious. Having seen many singers from a young age due to my father being a trot singer, meeting Young Tak, whom I had seen on TV, in person and receiving a song from him was an honor."
Both agreed that Young Tak created a comfortable atmosphere that enabled them to be stable during recording. Kim Hee-jin said, "Young Tak kept encouraging us to 'do as you wish. Be as comfortable as you need to bring out your strengths. If you don't like it, you can do it again.' I had been craving some encouragement, so it was great to meet someone who offered it," she said with a smile.
Yoon Seo-ryeong added, "I was worried because he is a senior singer, but we finished the recording well as he made us feel at ease. The CEO of our agency came to the recording studio, but when he saw us getting nervous, Young Tak said, 'The CEO should leave for the singers to record well,'" revealing an anecdote from the recording.
When asked if "Love is a Macchiato" could become a hit to rival "Why Are You Coming Out From There?" they responded, "We think Young Tak's 'Why Are You Coming Out From There?' would be number one, and 'Love is a Macchiato' might be number two. Both songs are Young Tak's children, so we ask for your love."
