Wonho Names His Fandom "WENEE" + Reveals Reason Why
Wonho is officially back! On August 14 (Friday), the 27-year-old South Korean idol made a grand show with his comeback. Wonho unveiled his first music and music video as a solo artist for the 'Losing You.' The release paved the way for his music to reach out to listeners in South Korea and worldwide.
'Losing You' is a piece of his first extended play entitled 'Love Synonym #1: Right for Me', made available on September 4. As per Hellokpop, his album's upcoming release will be hist first stunt since he severed with Monsta X in October 2019.
The song is a pop R&B genre that incorporates a sweet piano instrumental and Wonho's good vocals. As he sings each line of the lyrics, fans' can surely notice and feel the idol's deep sincerity in showing off his affection and thankfulness for all of the WENEEs worldwide. The words are also written and sung in a full English language, transporting the song's message smoother and brighter to his non-Korean speaking fans.
The fact leads to the sole question as to why Wonho named his fandom WENEE.
In an exclusive interview with Radio.com, reported by Kpopstarz, the singer-songwriter opened up the time he comes up with his fandom name and how great his fans to him.
As per Wonho, WENEE stands for the shortened term of "We are new ending to We NEED." The distinct fandom name compared to other Kpop solo artists. The singer also revealed that his staff and other production team members didn't initially like the new name but eventually emerged victorious over choosing it.
Moreover, 'Losing You' is made by Wonho to his beloved WENEEs that is very close to his heart and being. "I want to show them how much I care about them more than anything and that we are forever connected as well as we are one," he said.
