A South Korean court has ruled that girl group NewJeans (NJZ) must continue their activities under their current agency, ADOR.

On March 21, the Seoul Central District Court's Civil Agreement Division 50 (Presiding Judge Kim Sang-hoon) accepted ADOR's injunction request against the five members of NewJeans, granting the agency's petition to preserve its exclusive management rights and to prohibit the members from signing separate advertising contracts.

The five NewJeans members had previously announced last November that they had terminated their exclusive contracts with ADOR, citing contract violations, and began pursuing independent activities.

In response, ADOR filed for an injunction this past January, requesting the court to prohibit the members from independently entering into advertising agreements without the agency's consent.

Furthermore, ADOR later expanded its injunction request to bar the members from participating in any music-related activities-including songwriting, composing, and performing-as well as any other entertainment industry activities outside of the agency.

The court has now ruled in favor of ADOR, effectively halting the members' independent NJZ promotions and requiring them to honor their contractual obligations with ADOR.
