Past remarks by actor Kim Soo-hyun, who has been linked to the late actress Kim Sae-ron in dating rumors, have sparked renewed discussion.

The controversial comments were made during a showcase event for the 2013 film Secretly, Greatly, held in May of that year.

At the time, Kim Soo-hyun was asked, "At what age do you want to get married?" He responded, "I made a life plan when I was 25. I was thinking about how I would make a living and had planned to get married at 36. But I don't think I'll be able to keep that plan." Kim Soo-hyun was 25 years old at the time.

He then added, "Now I'm thinking maybe I should get married at 41 to a 21-year-old." The event host, Kim Tae-jin, jokingly replied, "Hearing this, kindergarteners all over the country must be excited."

Kim Sae-ron's Family Confirms Relationship with Kim Soo-hyun

On March 10, Kim Sae-ron's family spoke to Garo Sero Institute (GaSeYeon), claiming, "It is true that Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron were in a relationship. They dated for six years."

The family also alleged that Kim Sae-ron worked without pay to help establish Gold Medalist, Kim Soo-hyun's agency, only to be discarded like "an old shoe."

Additionally, they revealed an old post written by Kim Sae-ron before her passing. In it, she stated, "The photo uploaded to my Instagram Story was from 2016. Our relationship lasted from November 2016 to July 2021. I was 16 (15 internationally), and he was 30 (27 internationally). That's how our six-year relationship ended."

She also criticized Gold Medalist, writing, "Their official statement saying they 'do not understand the intent' behind my actions does not align with what they actually did. I hope they acknowledge the harm I suffered while working under my former agency and take responsibility for their actions."

Gold Medalist Denies Dating Allegations, Plans Legal Action

Kim Sae-ron, born in 2000, had a 12-year age difference with Kim Soo-hyun, who was born in 1988.

In March last year, she posted a photo on Instagram showing herself cheek-to-cheek with Kim Soo-hyun but quickly deleted it. Gold Medalist swiftly denied the dating rumors at the time, stating, "The rumors are completely unfounded. We have no idea why Kim Sae-ron acted this way."

However, Kim Sae-ron publicly refuted the agency's claims, and her statement has now been released by her family.

With dating allegations resurfacing, Gold Medalist once again issued a denial on March 10. The agency stated, "Claims that Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun from the age of 15, that our handling of her DUI case was inappropriate, and that our manager has close ties with YouTuber Lee Jin-ho are all baseless accusations. These are malicious falsehoods, and we are preparing the strongest possible legal action."

As tensions escalate, the controversy surrounding Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron shows no sign of dying down.
