YG’s BabyMonster Conquers Japan’s Top Music Programs
YG Entertainment's rookie girl group, BabyMonster, is set to conquer Japan's major terrestrial music programs. According to YG Entertainment, BabyMonster will perform the title track "SHEESH" from their debut mini-album 'BABYMONS7ER' on TV Asahi's 'Music Station' (commonly known as 'M Station') on May 17. This marks their first live performance in Japan, even before their official debut, on the prestigious show which boasts a 38-year history.
The fact that BabyMonster will present the original Korean version of their song is also noteworthy. YG Entertainment explained that due to the enthusiastic response from local music fans to "SHEESH," the decision was made to perform the original track. Following this, they will continue their promotional activities with appearances on major music programs such as NHK's 'Venue101' on May 18 and TBS's 'CDTV Live! Live!' on May 20.
Beyond music shows, BabyMonster is rapidly gaining momentum in Japan. They will hold 'BABYMONSTER PRESENTS: SEE YOU THERE IN JAPAN' at Tokyo Ariake Arena on May 11 and 12, marking a swift entry into an arena-level venue just 40 days after their official debut.
The 20,000 tickets for the two-day concert sold out quickly, and additional seats were opened due to high demand from fans. The commemorative pop-up store at Miyashita Park in Shibuya is also drawing large crowds. From the first day, hundreds of fans lined up, and merchandise sold out rapidly, prompting plans for additional pop-up locations.
Starting in Tokyo, BabyMonster will expand their global reach with their debut Asian fan meeting tour, which includes seven events across five cities: Jakarta, Indonesia on June 8, Singapore on June 15, Taipei, Taiwan on June 23, and Bangkok, Thailand on June 29 and 30.
