Popular K-pop artists, including BLACKPINK, have been honored at the '2023 MTV Video Music Awards' (MTV VMAs) held in the United States.

The 'MTV VMAs' took place on the 13th at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Among K-pop artists, BLACKPINK stood out by winning in the 'Group of the Year' and 'Best Choreography' categories, uniquely securing a double win. The 'Group of the Year' award has been dominated by BTS since 2019, winning it for four consecutive years, but this year, BLACKPINK took the baton.

With BTS taking a break from group activities due to military service, their absence was felt. However, the group's youngest member, Jungkook, eased that sentiment. He clinched the trophy for the 'Song of the Summer' category with his solo track "Seven." Having previously won this category in the 2021 awards with BTS's song "Butter," Jungkook has now become the first Korean solo artist to win in this category.

Stray Kids were recognized as the winners in the 'Best K-pop' category, celebrating their win with their title track "S-Class" from their third full-length album. TOMORROW X TOGETHER (TXT) became the stars of the 'Push Performance of the Year' category with their fifth mini-album title track "Sugar Rush Ride." This award recognizes the best artist among those selected for 'MTV Push.'

Among the K-pop artists who received awards, only Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER attended the ceremony. Both groups showcased their performances, with Stray Kids presenting "S-Class" and TXT performing "Back for More."

Meanwhile, pop star Taylor Swift showcased her unparalleled presence by sweeping major categories, including 'Video of the Year,' 'Artist of the Year,' and 'Song of the Year,' with her hit song "Anti-Hero." The trophy for the 'Best New Artist' category, equivalent to a rookie award, was taken home by up-and-coming American hip-hop artist Ice Spice.
