"K-pop Sensations FIFTY FIFTY and BTS Jimin Dazzle in Anticipated Hollywood Blockbusters
From girl group FIFTY FIFTY to BTS member Jimin, K-pop artists have been shining in eagerly-awaited Hollywood blockbusters.
According to the movie 'Barbie,' slated for release in July, its OST lineup includes FIFTY FIFTY, who has elicited a tremendous response by entering the US Billboard main singles chart 'Hot 100' for 12 consecutive weeks.
Prior to this, BTS's Jimin, a pop icon representing the 21st century, participated in the main theme song for the May release of 'Fast & Furious: Ride or Die,' capturing much attention. The status of K-pop, taking over Hollywood, is gaining focus.
The 'Barbie' OST includes globally celebrated artists such as Dua Lipa, Nicki Minaj, often regarded as the most successful female rapper globally, and Lizzo, who shone at the 65th Grammy Awards by winning Record of the Year.
Adding to this stellar lineup, girl group FIFTY FIFTY, who set a new record by entering the Billboard Hot 100 in the shortest time after debut among K-idols and stayed on the chart for 12 consecutive weeks, proudly claimed a spot on the OST. FIFTY FIFTY is set to showcase a unique charm by participating as the vocalist for 'Barbie Dreams' in the OST.
The love for K-pop in Hollywood blockbusters was also evident in the movie 'Fast & Furious: Ride or Die,' which was released last May. BTS's Jimin, recognized as a pop icon of the 21st century, participated in the film's main theme song, 'Angel Pt.1.' This marked the first participation in a 'Fast & Furious' series OST by a Korean artist, thereby drawing even more attention.
