BTS Confirmed to Perform At MTV VMAs This Year
The renowned MTV Video Music Awards is one of the most extravagant events in the global music scene. For this year’s awards show, the MTV VMAs’ stage will grace the most phenomenal South Korean all-boy ensemble, BTS.
The Bangtan Boys adds up to the roster of celebrity performers of the event, including rapper Doja Cat and J Balvin, Hellokpop reported.
The VMAs will welcome the group’s first performance of their forthcoming English song titled ‘Dynamite,’ due on August 21.
Last year, the South Korean septet achieved their first milestone in the VMAs ‘Best K-pop’ category with their major hit track called ‘Boy With Luv,’ that features American ‘Without You’ singer, Halsey. Recently, the distinguished awards’ show has listed BTS’ ‘ON’ from their ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ album in February. Aside from the group’s ‘Best K-pop’ nomination, they are also competing with multiple artists in the ‘Best Pop Video,’ ‘Best Choreography,’ and ‘Best K-pop Group’ categories.
The South Korean idols will cross swords with the music industry’s renowned and established artists like Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Halsey, The Jonas Brothers, Quavo, and Justin Bieber. The matter made the ARMYs hearts skip a beat, but they will always be in full support of their idols no matter the results.
Meanwhile, the ARMYs is anticipating for their idols’ ‘Dynamite’ track. BTS makes the single as a COVID-19 encouragement to their fans experiencing a struggle in life due to the global pandemic.
About the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards
The forthcoming American event will take place on August 30 at precisely 8 P.M. ET/PT. The show will air live from Barclays Center in New York City. The upcoming VMAs will be the first live event since the COVID-19 global pandemic forced all events to be canceled and deferred into later dates.
According to EW, the VMAs is available for streaming on MTV.com and MTV application. The host is still unknown.
