BTS's Jimin Sweeps U.S. Billboard Charts with Solo and Collaborative Tracks: Double Threat Popularity
BTS member Jimin has shown his unparalleled popularity by sweeping key Billboard charts as a K-pop solo artist.
The main theme song of the Hollywood blockbuster 'Fast & Furious: Ride or Die', 'Angel Pt.1', featuring Jimin, debuted at number 65 on the U.S. Billboard Main Singles Chart 'Hot 100' on June 3rd.
'Angel Pt.1' ranking 65th on the 'Hot 100' marks the highest achievement for an OST sung by a Korean artist. Backed by this, the 'Fast & Furious 10' OST album showcased immense power by debuting at number 1 on the 'Soundtrack' chart, and reaching number 79 on the 'Billboard 200' chart.
In particular, Jimin's entry into the 'Hot 100' with 'Angel Pt.1' sets a new record for a Korean artist, charting four songs in the shortest period of four months, including the collaborative songs 'VIbe', 'Set Me Free Pt2', and his chart-topping solo song 'Like Crazy'. This has rewritten K-pop history once again.
On the 'Digital Song Sales' chart, 'Angel Pt.1' reached the top, marking it as Jimin's third number 1 song following 'Set Me Free Pt2' and 'Like Crazy'. This record-setting performance has established Jimin as the only artist worldwide this year to have three songs top the chart.
Additionally, Jimin became the first Korean solo artist to chart a total of four songs at number one, including the domestic drama OST 'With You', showcasing an astonishing performance by charting eight songs within four months. This includes songs like 'Filter' and 'Serendipity' from the BTS album, setting a record by charting a total of 11 songs.
Jimin achieved the remarkable feat of ranking first this week on both the 'Rap Digital Song Sales' chart and the 'R&B/Hip-Hop Digital Song Sales' chart, where he first made his name. Additionally, he ranked 11th on the 'Hot Rap Songs' chart, 18th on the 'R&B/Hip-Hop Songs' chart, 16th on the 'Global 200' chart, and 12th on the 'Global Excl. U.S.' chart.
Jimin's solo track also continues its popularity streak on the Billboard charts for the ninth week. 'Like Crazy', which had achieved the second-highest sales in the history of Korean solo artists, ranked 57th on the 'Global 200' chart and 40th on the 'Global Excl. U.S.' chart.
The album 'Face', which includes 'Like Crazy', ranked ninth on the 'World Albums' chart, maintaining its place in the top 10 for nine consecutive weeks. The album also ranked 36th on the 'Top Current Album Sales' chart and 54th on the 'Top Album Sales' chart, continuing to make history on major Billboard charts.
