BTS V's 'Christmas Tree' Breaks Record as K-OST with Fastest 280 Million Streams on Spotify
BTS's V has seen his 'Christmas Tree' surpass 280 million streams on Spotify, the world's largest music platform, illuminating his popularity.
'Christmas Tree' crossed the 280 million streaming mark on Spotify, the fastest in K-OST history, on May 11.
As of May 14, 'Christmas Tree' has logged 281 million streams, establishing it as the second most streamed K-OST on Spotify.
The most streamed K-OST on Spotify is V's 'Sweet Night'.
With this, V has demonstrated his presence as a global music powerhouse, holding both the first and second most streamed K-OST spots on Spotify.
'Christmas Tree', released during the Christmas season, competed with holiday carols dominating the global music charts. Nevertheless, it caught the attention of overseas media by ranking 79th on the US Billboard 'Hot 100', second on both the UK 'Official Charts' and 'Official Singles Download Chart', and 24th on the 'Official Independent Singles Chart'.
Upon its release, numerous overseas media praised V's soulful tone, highlighting his "wide range and excellent solos", and describing his vocals as "smooth as silk, deep, and full of soul".
'Christmas Tree' was selected as the most streamed Korean drama OST of 2022 in the 'Spotify Wrapped' year-end data, and the eighth most streamed K-pop globally, demonstrating its powerful streaming power.
Recently, V has attracted global attention by amassing over 13 million Spotify followers with just three OST songs, without any solo albums, mixtapes, or overseas collaborations. Expectations for V's solo album among fans worldwide are growing even higher.
