BLACKPINK's Lisa Shatters Records with 'LALISA': First K-pop Solo Album to Surpass 1 Billion Streams on Spotify
BLACKPINK's Lisa has proven her powerful global influence by setting new Guinness World Records with her solo album 'LALISA.'
YG Entertainment announced on the 11th that Lisa's solo album 'LALISA' has officially been registered in the Guinness World Records as the 'first K-pop artist's solo album to surpass 1 billion streams on Spotify.'
The achievement was accomplished with just two tracks, the title song 'LALISA' and the B-side 'MONEY.' Released on September 10th, 2022, the album reached the milestone in just 595 days, fueled by the consistent love of global music fans.
In addition, the record for the 'fastest K-pop female solo to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify,' which she achieved on October 26, 2022, was also officially recognized. Guinness highlighted that "there are only three Lisa songs available for streaming on Spotify," including her feature on DJ Snake's single 'SG.'
With this, Lisa has set a total of seven individual Guinness World Records. She has previously entered the Guinness World Records in five categories, including 'most viewed YouTube video by a solo artist in 24 hours,' 'most viewed K-pop solo artist's YouTube video in 24 hours,' 'first K-pop soloist to win an MTV Video Music Award,' 'first K-pop soloist to win an MTV Europe Music Award,' and 'most followed K-pop artist on Instagram.' Lisa is the first and only K-pop solo artist in history to hold seven Guinness World Records.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, the group Lisa belongs to, is currently conducting the largest-scale K-pop girl group world tour, 'BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR [BORN PINK],' attracting approximately 1.5 million attendees. Following the successful ongoing Asia tour, they will perform in Paris, France, and four North American cities. In July, they will make history as the first K-pop artist to headline the 'Hyde Park British Summer Time Festival' in the UK.
