BLACKPINK's Jennie Stuns as a Fairy-like Beauty at Her First Met Gala, Named Among Best Dressed
BLACKPINK's Jennie showcased her enchanting beauty at the Met Gala, which she attended for the first time.
Jennie participated in the 2023 Met Gala held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York on May 1 (EDT). This year's Met Gala theme paid tribute to the late legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, who passed away at the age of 85 in 2019. Numerous global celebrities donned glamorous outfits dedicated to Lagerfeld, drawing attention.
Korean stars including Jennie, Song Hye-kyo, and Choi So-ra attended the event, generating buzz. In particular, Jennie, an ambassador for Chanel and dubbed "Human Chanel," drew attention as she appeared in a Chanel mini dress.
The outfit Jennie wore was a vintage white mini dress from Chanel's 1990 collection, accentuated with black gloves, black stockings, and white flower decorations symbolizing Chanel.
In an interview with Vogue, Jennie, who attended the Met Gala for the first time, revealed she received advice from Rosé, who attended last year's event. She said, "Rosé told me to just enjoy it, so that's the plan for today." Regarding her outfit, Jennie expressed her gratitude, saying, "I feel fortunate to be able to work with the Chanel team to recreate this dress Karl designed. I am very happy."
Many international media outlets also focused on Jennie's look. American magazine W named her as one of the best-dressed attendees at this year's Met Gala, alongside Rihanna and Nicole Kidman.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK recently garnered enthusiastic responses from music fans worldwide as the first K-pop headliner at the United States' largest music festival, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. They are also slated to be the first K-pop artist headliner at the upcoming British Summer Time Festival at Hyde Park in July.
