The Japan Golden Disc Awards made known this year's champions, revealing names of K-pop artists who bagged multiple awards. Well, one of them is Big Hit Entertainment's BTS, who also recently made its way to the Grammys.

BTS scores eight trophies at the '35th Japan Gold Disc Awards'

The winners of the 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards were announced on March 15 (Monday) by the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), where the world's most phenomenal K-pop group went home with eight trophies.

To name such trophies, BTS took home the Best Asian Artist for three consecutive years, then bagged the Best Album of the Year (Asia) for its Japanese album entitled Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~. Also, the band took the Best Music Video of the Year (Asia) trophy.

On top of the revealed awards, the K-pop septet also snatched the Best Song of the Year by Download (Asia), the Best Song of the Year by Streaming (Asia), and the Best 5 Songs by Streaming awards.

The impressive score of BTS at the recently concluded magnifies its failure to snatch an award at the 2021 Grammy Awards that took place a day before the 35th Japan Gold Disc Awards (local time).

However, the new awards from the said award-giving body add up to the band's long list of trophies from the said institution and are expected to earn more, considering its popularity is at its peak

The little brothers of BTS, TXT, also claimed two trophies this year: the Best New Artist of the Year (Asia) and the Best 3 New Artists awards together with Stray Kids.

TXT made its debut in the Japanese market last year, which is also the same year Stray Kids made theirs.

Furthermore, SEVENTEEN took over one of the Best 3 Albums (Asia) award with its album 24H, alongside BTS's Map of the Soul: 7 and Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~.
