BTS, 'CLOY,' And 'Parasite' Lead 'Hallyu' 2020 Popularity
The three lead acts of the Hallyu popularity 2020 are made known, showing the massive influence of BTS, the hit drama series Crash Landing On You, and Oscar-winning movie Parasite.
'Crash Landing On You'
The major hit drama series starred by real-life couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, Crash Landing On You, is handpicked by approximately 9.5 percent of Hallyu fans as their favorite K-drama.
The list goes on with It's Okay Not To Be Okay at 4.1 percent, followed by The World of the Married at 2.8 percent.
The list is based on the Culture Ministry's annual survey and the Korean Foundation for International Culture Exchange.
BTS
The world's most phenomenal K-pop group BTS leads the list with 22 percent for the singer category. Then expectedly, BLACKPINK made its way second at 13.5 percent, and with the iconic K-pop sensation Psy at 2.9 percent.
Furthermore, the ranking for 2020 is the same as its previous year, but the populace who sided with BTS and BLACKPINK as their favorite singers gradually increased.
'Parasite'
The Oscar-winning South Korean film titled Parasite is at the No. 1 spot on the Hallyu congregation's favorite movie. The film finished with 18.4 percent and then followed by the apocalyptic Train to Busan movie with 1.2 percent.
Aside from the two famous films mentioned, Peninsula also finished on the list at No. 3 with 3.5 percent.
'Hallyu' content at its peak
The said report listed in this writing was according to the survey conducted to 2,500 Hallyu content consumers in 18 countries. It includes Turkey, Indonesia, Japan, China, and the United States. That said, the survey was made online between September and November last year.
The results made all K-pop fans agree to the matter, as it is apparent the names and titles are shown the best pick.
