BTS kicks off the first month of the year, topping the brand rankings for idol groups as revealed by the Korean Business Research Institute! The power groups, BLACKPINK, TWICE, (G)I-DLE, and IZ*ONE, tailed the Bangtan Boys for January.

Using big data collected from December 23, 2020, to January 23, 2021, the rankings were determined by analyzing consumer participation, media coverage, interaction, and community awareness indexes of various idol groups.

BTS Nailed On Top

Scoring a brand reputation index of 15,664,084, BTS held onto their spot at the top of the list for January. Golden Disc, Billboard, and TikTok are among the high-ranking phrases in the group's keyword analysis. While surpass, award, and dominate are among the highest-ranking related terms of BTS. The Bangtan Boys revealed a score of 85.02 percent positive reactions in their positivity-negativity analysis.

BTS made a slight decrease in their brand index this month from the previous, which is 18,972,090. The score on December of the septet marked a 12.54 percent increase in their score since November.

Furthermore, the previous high-ranking phrases in BTS's keyword analysis included Dynamite, Billboard, and YouTube, while their highest-ranking related terms included congratulate, award and release. The December positivity-negativity analysis of the group revealed a score of 85.02 percent positive reactions.

BLACKPINK Maintaining A Close Score

BLACKPINK also remained in their position from last month at second place. The quartet scored a brand reputation index of 11,865,603, marking a 41.23 percent increase in their score since the previous month.

Meanwhile, TWICE rose to third place this month from ranking seventh previously-the girls enjoying a 62.94 percent rise in their brand reputation index since December. For January, the group scored a total index of 9,248,874.
