B.A.P's Jongup, who recently made his solo debut with his new single HEADACHE, has been confirmed to star in a 2021 movie about idol groups titled Idol Recipe! 

Along with the idol-actor are Dal Shabet's Woohee, ELRIS's Sohee, JBJ95's Kenta, NOIR's Ryu Hoyeon, and former SONAMOO member Nahyun.

Director Peter Lee, who worked on KBS's Full House and SBS's Fashion 70s and The Great Ambition, will be helming the film. The director was also known for his produced web drama Immutable Law of First Love in 2015 and the 2016 web movie Romantic Boss.

Jongup On Preparing For The Movie

Regarding Jongup's casting in the film, a source from Big Ocean ENM shared some comments. They said that Jongup is doing his best to take on his role in 'Idol Recipe perfectly, and he is set to showcase a different kind of charm from the variety he exhibits on stage as an artist.

Big Ocen ENM added, "Please send lots of support so that Jongup can expand his presence as an actor."

The Story Of 'Idol Recipe'

The comedic idol music film Idol Recipe (literal title) follows the story of an unknown idol group named Bella, which has become a disorderly mess due to their agency's poor treatment.

The group's evil manager tries to sell them off, and later on, they overcome their conflict and eventually succeeded by entering the Billboard charts.

Jongup will be taking the role of Bella's genius composer Jang Jun. By producing a song that helps Bella rise to the top, Jang Jun will become a figure who will positively influence the group.

Moreover, Woohee will play Kelly's role, Bella's producer, and Kenta will play the group's talented dancer Redi. Taking the part of Bella's visual, Jenia, who is dating Jang Jun, is Nahyun.

Finally, Ryu Hoyeon will become the math genius and group's leader Do Young, and Sohee will become the female leader and main vocal Ji Ahn.

As reported, the kick-off of the filming of Idol Recipe will begin in January.
