SPECTRUM Bids Goodbye As WYNN Entertainment Announces Disbandment
The six-member rookie boy group is now bidding goodbye to their fans after two years of spreading good vibes through their music.
On July 10, Spectrum's agency, WYNN Entertainment, has released the following statement about the boy group's plans and disbandment [via Soompi]:
"Hello, this is WYNN Entertainment. We sincerely apologize for bringing such unhappy news. Due to the worsening situation at our agency, for reasons including COVID-19, we are no longer able to maintain Spectrum."
WYNN Entertainment continued saying that due to the unfortunate happenings and the pandemic, they have decided to terminate the contracts of the six members of Spectrum as of July 10.
"We express our gratitude to the members of Spectrum, who have been with us for the past three years. We will continue to send our constant support for the members and their future undertakings."
The agency ended their statement apologizing to their fans who have supported and have cared for Spectrum until now.
Spectrum debuted initially as a seven-member group on May 10, 2018, after the group participated in "Mix Nine"- a survival reality show on JBTC. The group consists of Jo Min Jae, Moon Dong Gyu, Kim Jae Han, Hwarang (Park Joon Chang), Kim Dong Yoon, Villain (Lee Sung Hyun), and Choi Eun Joon.
With "Light it Up" as the title track of their first single album "Be Born," the boys exhibited their capabilities to the public and somehow achieved good reviews.
However, due to the sudden death of their co-member Kim Doong Yoon on July 27, 2018, the team was shaken up. Through the constant support of their fans and agency, the group somehow managed to return to the stage.
On November 2, 2018, Spectrum was able to rebuild their group as six members through the showcase of their second mini-album "Timeless Moment."
They released the track "Dear My," which made the group members emotional since the single was recorded before the death of Dong Yoon. "We wanted to release this song with Dong Yoon's voice to the world," the members expressed.
