South Korean singer Shoo, who is a band member of the K-pop girls' group S.E.S has apologized to fans for her gambling controversy four years later with a handwritten letter.

The artist posted a handwritten note of apology on her personal Instagram handle on January 19 KST. She opened the letter by extending a greeting to all the fans after a long time.

The content of the letter read that the reason why she was greeting everyone like this after a long period has passed since she first caused the gambling controversy, is because if she just kept hiding out of fear, then she would not be able to deliver her message to fans and the public.

The singer shared that she wanted to stand in front of everyone again, after clearing up all the problems as soon as possible. But with her and her family's name continuing to be mentioned, and the reported information in the news was so far from the truth, she was scared.

Shoo went on to write that in the latter half of 2018, she fell for gambling after an acquaintance tempted her, and the scale rapidly increased and she became completely engrossed in it. Consequently, she lost all her property, including assets, that she had spent decades of her celebrity life saving up for and she is now buried in a load of debt, reaching a level of disgrace.

The singer then disclosed that for the last four years, she had been trying her best to solve her gambling-related problems. She wrote that in particular, her debt has caused great damage, such as lease deposit seizure of her building's tenants. So, she has been paying off her debt to prevent them from suffering further damage.

Shoo also said that she even tried working at a side dish store, selling clothes at the Dongdaemun Market, and working at an acquaintance's restaurant to do her best to repay her debt.

The artist further wrote that wants to say that she is so sorry to all the other S.E.S members. Even though they suffered a lot because of Shoo, they always worried about her first and helped her, and kept things straight so that Shoo would not make extreme choices.

Shoo also took the opportunity to extend her sincere gratitude toward Eugene and Bada unni. The singer said that it is late, but she will do her best to not disappoint everyone again. Also, she will do her best to make up for the wound that she caused so many people. From now on, she will return to the humble mindset she had when she first debuted 24 years ago as a part of S.E.S.

The singer signed off the letter by saying she will show everyone the life of Yoo Soo Young (her real name) who lives a life full of effort.

In 2018, Shoo was disclosed to be the previously unnamed member "A" from a 90's girl group who did not pay back borrowed gambling money and was sued.
